Destine's face got a little paler with each step closer the God of War came to her and Sinbad. A few feet before he was within speaking distance Destine saw Xena stalk across the room and hit Caesar square in the face. Ares quickly turned around and started towards the bar.
"What kind of party *is* this?" asked Sinbad. Destine just shook her head and looked on in shock and horror as Kim went to punch Xena in the face. ~She must be just about drunk~ Destine thought with a start.
"I've got to go help her, "Destine said as she started to go to the bar. At the last moment Sinbad grabbed her arm. "No, don't get in the middle of it, it's not your fight."
"But she's my friend and my temple sister besides. I have to--" Destine didn't have a chance to finish the sentence, Cupid had stepped in and had announced that he would tolerate no fighting in his temple. At least Ares would be busy somewhere else for awhile. Just then Nymph walked up with her date Darnell.
"Hey, Nymph, Darnell," Destine said with a smile. "I'd like to introduce you to my date. This is Captain Sinbad."
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Sinbad. It's great to see that you finally made it to the party. Just look what you would have missed if you hadn't of come," Nymph said with a laugh. Destine laughed in agreement and saw Kim say something to Caesar and start towards them.
"I guess I'd better go talk with Kim," Destine said, "I'll talk to you both later." With another wave Sinbad and Destine started to walk towards Kim. When they finally reached Kim the first words out of Destine's mouth were--
"Kim, what in *Hades* did you think you were *doing*?" Destine asked, nearly yelling.
"I was defending Caesar, what did it look like? She had no right to come and punch him, " Kim said in a livid rage. " Just who does she think she is....?"
"Stop grumbling, it's over now and I wouldn't worry anymore about it. Xena won't bother you anymore tonight," Destine said. Then she realized that Kim wasn't listening to a word she said. Instead she was staring at Sinbad.
"So....are you going to introduce me to your date?" Kim said, all smiles again.
"Well, yes, I guess I should. Kim, this is Captain Sinbad. Sinbad, this is the other High Priestesses of Cupid's temple and my friend, Kim"
Sinbad bowed low to Kim and took her hand to kiss the back of it. "Pleasure to meet you, Kim" Kim gave him a flirty smile and continued to hold Sinbad's hand. Destine felt a small thread of jealousy start in the center of her. ~No, Kim wouldn't do that. She'd *better* not do that or Xena will be the lesser of two evils for her tonight.~ Just at that moment Caesar came back with the drinks that Kim had asked him to get. Destine flashed him a smile.
"Nice to see you again Caesar," Destine said.
"Likewise," he replied returning the smile.
Out of the corner of her eye she saw Kim tense up and drop Sinbad's hand. ~Worked like a charm~ Destine thought to herself with a smile. Just then an erotic tune filled the air and all turned to see Zelena and Iphicles dancing the labamba. ~Now that definately looks like fun~ Destine thought with an evil grin. Sinbad read her mind.
"Care to dance?" Sinbad asked and leaned closer to her ear to add, "I feel like I've waited a life time to hold you in my arms again." Destine blushed at his words and nodded her head. She was so caught up in the thought that she'd be in Sinbad's arms again she almost forgot to excuse herself.
"Uh, Kim, Caesar, I'll talk to you later, ok?" And with that Destine walked out onto the floor and stepped into heaven.

Kim, I hope you didn't mind me using you in this part of my story. I know you'd *never ever* try to steal a date from me, right? RIGHT? Ok, I'm just kidding. Don't take offense or anything. So, how much drunker will you get tonight Kim? Are you going to get into any more fights?
