Jenni saw the anger in Ares eyes. Hercules had excused himself earlier in case he was needed as referee again. After Zelena and Iphicles left, Jenni turned to Sinn and Iolaus.
"If you two don't mind, I'm going to go and talk to Ares."
"Be careful," Sinn said.
"Yeah, he looks pretty upset," Iolaus warned.
"I'll be fine. I've dealt with Ares' anger before." Jenni left and made her way over to Ares, passing quietly by Hercules. "Ares, wanna dance?"
Ares looked past her at the door and then he looked at her. "Can we just talk."
"Sure, let's go get a drink and go out on the balcony." Jenni and Ares each got a glass of wine and headed out to the balcony. "My Lord, what's wrong?"
"Doesn't she have the right to dance with whomever she chooses?"
"It's not that..."
"Oh, I see. She just can't kiss anyone she chooses. Ares, leave her be. If she truely loves you, she'll come to you. You can't force her to do something that she doesn't want to do."
Ares looked out, silently, into the night. It seemed so peaceful out here. "I guess you're right. I'm not behaving right, am I?"
Jenni laughed, a little. "Well, you are the god of war. But, maybe for tonight, you could take some pointers from your brother."
"Hercules. Like, I want to be like him."
Jenni lightly punched Ares in his arm. "Stop it. I didn't say be like him, I merely suggested you behave like him. Now, get back in there and have fun."
"Is that an order?"
"Great, now I'm taking orders from a mortal."
Jenni laughed again and pushed Ares back inside. "Now can we dance?"
"Won't Hercules get mad?" Ares asked jokingly.
"Alright." Ares grabbed Jenni's arm and pulled her onto the dance floor.
