Amethysta,
I like the new twist you added to the story. It'll certainly liven the party up some. I can't wait to see what
direction you decide to take with it. Oh, BTW, I'll be comming back to the party soon. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Destine sat at the bar with Sinbad, sipping her lime and water. Things had calmed down a lot since Dite's
announcement and then with her changing everyone back to normal. For the most part everyone was standing in
groups and talking and a few were on the dance floor making the most of the music. Kim and Caesar were
back to doing body shots in a nearby corner of the bar. Suddenly her stomach growled and reminded her that
she hadn't eaten anything since early that morning.
Destine grabbed Sinbad by the hand and said, "Come on, let's get something to eat. I'm starving!" They
walked hand in hand to the buffet tables and had just picked up their plates when Destine caught sight of
kriket.
"Oh, kriket's back!" Destine exclaimed.
"Who?"
"One of our sister's that we thought had left the temple for good. I had no idea she was comming back. Come
on, I've got to go say hi." Destine once again took Sinbad's hand and dragged him over to where Kriket and
an unknown man where. Their heads where close together and they looked like they were in deep
conversation. They both looked up as Destine and Sinbad approached.
"kriket! So good to see you again!" Destine said as she gave her temple sister a hug. (You don't mind, do
you?)
kriket returned the hug and replied, "It's good to see you, too. I didn't know how welcome I would be after I
ran out on everyone like I did."
"It's ok, we all understood why you left. I don't really blame you," Destine said with a smile. "We're all just
glad you came back."
"I'm glad to be back. Let me introduce you to my friend. This is Kyrine," Kriket said introducing the man on
her left. kriket's and Kyrine's eyes shifted to Sinbad and Destine took the non-verbal cue to introduce her
guest.
"kriket, Kyrine, this is Captain Sinbad," Destine said as she began to hold Sinbad's hand again. "He's an old
friend."
kriket and Kyrine looked at the two of them with a smile knowing there was more than friendship between
them. They would have to blind not to see it.
"Well, we'll let you get back to your conversation. It was good to see you again, kriket," Destine told kriket
and Kyrine. "We're off to raid the buffet tables!" They all waved good-bye to each other as Sinbad and
Destine made their way back to the tables.
"Mmmm...it all looks so good, I don't know where to start!" Destine remarked with her eyes wide with delight.
Sinbad handed her a plate and took one for himself. "I have an idea, let's just start at one end of the table and
work our way down. That way we won't miss anything." Destine agreed with his idea and they sampled a little
of everything. After a while (and too many pieces of chocolate cake) they finally became full.
"Oh, remind me to tell Carnation how good everything was. I'm going to die because I ate so much," Destine
groaned as she patted her stomach.
"I told you not to eat that last slice of cake," Sinbad said with a laugh. He got up from his chair and held out his
hand. "Come on, let's go for a walk outside so we can work off all the food we ate."
Destine flashed him an unbelieveing look. "What? You want me to *move* after all that food I put away? I'll
bust!"
Sinbad laughed again. "It's the price you pay. Come on, you'll feel better once we get outside." Sinbad took
her hand and pulled her up from her chair so he could lead her to the balcony. Destine figured it would be a
while before Kim put her plan into action anyway so she decided that a walk might not be such a bad idea.
It was a beautiful night outside. The moon had turned everything silver and the sounds of the night animals
where comming from the woods. A warm breeze blew around the pair as they walked out onto the balcony.
They had had the luck of an Indian Summer for the party or it would have been too cold for anyone to be
outside. The two of them just stood at the very edge of the balcony hand in hand and let the night surround
them, each enjoying the time they could spend together. Destine suddenly thought of a place she would like to
show Sinbad.
"Come on," Destine softly said, "I've got something I'd like to show you." She lead him off the balcony and into
the huge back yard of the temple. They walked around to the front of the temple and started down the path
that lead back to Ares' Temple. They had been walking along the path for a few seconds when an auburn
haired woman came into veiw. ~Isn't that the newest priestess, Amethysta?~ Destine thought to herself. The
two women nodded at each other and continued on their seperate ways.
"Where are we going?" Sinbad asked. He was curious as to why they were headed this way.
"It's a surprise, trust me."
They walked a little longer and in the distance the sound of rushing water reached them. Destine lead them off
the well traveled path and started through the woods. Shortly they came to a clearing and the waterfall came
into view. The water talked to itself as it rushed over the falls and flowed into a small brooke. The moonlight
made tiny rainbows in the mist that floated around the water. It looked almost magical in the moonlight, they
almost expected faires to be flying around the water.
"Isn't it beautiful?" breathed Destine.
"Yes, it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my life time," Sinbad said with awe in his voice.
He gathered her in his arms and for a short time they stood and took in the beauty before them. Before long
though Sinbad had other ideas as to what they could be doing. They shared a long passionate kiss and Sinbad
picked Destine up in his arms and layed her in a soft bed of moss that grew near the waterfall. A soft mist
blanketed them as they lost themselves in the wonder of love.
