Jenni ran with Sinn to greet Xena and Gabrielle. Gabrielle looked at Jenni and noticed a troubled look in her best friend's eyes. "Jenni, what's wrong?" Gabrielle asked.
"Nothing. Just... well... please excuse me," Jenni said hastily and ran for the balcony doors.
Gabrielle turned to Sinn. "Is she alright?"
"I have no idea," Sinn replied as she watched Jenni disappear into the cool night.
Jenni stood on the balcony, the cool breeze whiping against her body. She shivered as the thought of the kiss she shared with Hercules came into her mind. ~How could I have done that!~ she thought to herself. ~He's a demi-god... the son of Zeus! These feelings I have right now do not feel like my own. But who would be behind all of this?~ Just then, Iolaus came outside.
"Jenni? Are you alright?" he asked her.
Jenni turned around, tears streaming down her face. "Did Hercules send you out here?"
"NO, of course not. I do care about you and when I saw you run out here, I just had to find out if you were alright."
"Yes, I'm fine. You can go back inside now."
Iolaus took Jenni in his arms. "You forget, little one, that I know you better than anyone else. You don't cry for no reason so tell me what's wrong."
Jenni looked into Iolaus' eyes. By the gods, he was beautiful. "Well, these feelings I have for Hercules... I don't understand them. I'm scaring myself."
"Well, they shouldn't. I can see the love in his eyes, also. Follow your heart... it will tell you where to go from here. Now, come back inside. It's cold out here."
Jenni tried to smile. "Alright... in a minute. First, I'd like to look at the stars a little more."
Iolaus kissed Jenni's hand and went back inside. Jenni looked up at the stars. "Oh, Mother," she said softly to herself. "What have I gotten myself into?"
